Everybody talks about sustainability.
We’re here to help you understand more about it.
Our source is
Mother Earth
We pay the highest attention in the selection of raw materials, the use of recycled materials, the reduction of environmental impact and the safety of our teams. These are the eight international certifications that demonstrate our willingness and commitment.
It is the world’s largest program for the sustainability of cotton production, aimed at reducing environmental stress and promoting the well-being of farming communities.
The international protocol for the management of raw materials and the reduction of chemicals in production processes.
It certifies products made from recycled materials and production activities. It enhances the value of products made from recycled materials, respecting environmental and social principles extended to all stages of the production chain.
GOTS is acknowledged as the most important standard for the sustainable production of garments and textiles made from natural fibres from organic farming, such as organic cotton or organic wool.
The OCS requires the delivery of an environmental declaration that validates the content of organically grown natural fibres in textile products and ensures traceability throughout the production chain of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products.
With this standard, Textile Exchange intends to enhance the use of recycled materials to promote a sustainable production and consumption model that aims to reduce the consumption of resources (virgin raw materials, water and energy).
The goals of the RWS are to provide the industry with a tool to identify the farmers’ best practices, ensuring that wool comes from farms that have an innovative approach in managing their land, practicing holistic animal welfare and respecting the Five Freedoms of animal welfare.
The EUROPEAN FLAX® paper, signed by all flax producers, guarantees local agriculture that respects the environment and is committed to: zero irrigation, zero GMOs and zero waste. The extraction of the fibres is 100% mechanical, which means that no chemicals are used in the process.
But Why?!
We firmly believe that without a healthy planet and without the dignity of the people who live on it, there is no possibility for the future, nor for development. That is why our commitment does not end with achieving certifications.
And How?!?
We have developed a path of integration between sustainability strategies and business needs, implementing a series of concrete actions and reliable projects.
People
The people who make our fabrics are at the very centre of our supply chain. We strive to ensure that every member of the team has the opportunity to be trained and to grow professionally. In a healthy and safe environment.
Clean Energy
We learned that using renewable energy is only a matter of will. We have succeeded in doing so in all our facilities: offices, finishing, warping and weaving are now 100% powered by clean energy, 30% of which is self-produced.
Energy efficiency
We keep looking for new ways to improve water and energy savings. In finishing and dyeing we have implemented sophisticated sensors and control devices, which enable us to save around 30 million litres of water per year.
Chemical management
Thanks to rigorous management, testing and analysis methodologies, the products we use are more and more safe for the environment, for those who process our products and for those who use them. Since 2018, we have implemented the chemical management protocol (ZDHC compliant) 4Sustainability.
Thermal saving
Making the most out of resources is essential to reducing our impact. We are committed to optimizing the use of the thermal energy we produce by investing in machines that recover heat, enabling us to produce more while consuming less.
Water conservation
We have acted on production methods to achieve water savings of around 8%. In 2020, we invested in the development of state-of-the-art technology to reduce water consumption in the dying process.
Cangioli Impact Initiatives.
We are committed to sustainability in every possible way.
In addition to the strict protocols that enable us to achieve our 8 certifications, we are at the forefront of several sustainability projects.
ZDHC - Roadmap to zero
Our path to zero impact chemicals. For a cleaner planet. For a better future.
Slow Fiber
In 2023 we joined Slow Fiber: a network of textile companies that wants to represent positive change through a sustainable production process based on products which are beautiful, good, healthy, fair, clean and durable.
4sustainability Programs
We have adopted the 4sustainability 4s CHEM and 4s PEOPLE protocols to initiate actions aimed at improving our environmental impact and promoting the well-being of people within the company.
